Please take time out from your day to view the various pictures of our beloved van, Guinevere. To many, Guinevere was merely an SWB 120 Transit van, but to us she was much, much more. She had the power to change opinions without speaking, cast a watchful eye without actually seeing anything. To us, she was just as much of a member of the band as the rest of us. Unfortunately, as will soon happen to Gary, she went for the dreaded MOT exam and failed. The people at the garage were appalled with her condition and, although we know we could have looked after her a little better, we were safe in the knowledge she was happy. Many members of the band have come and gone since the acquisition of Guinevere, however she has been a rock for the band, the studs on the football boot of life, the banister on the staircase of rock. The worst out of us all is Swanny. He has nurtured the van since he first laid eyes on her and taken great pride in shouting whenever she gets dirty. Nobody has seen him for days now and we're all getting a little bit worried. Swanny, if you're out there, please come back - nobody blames you. If you would like to help towards the funds of a new Guinevere, please contact the band. All donations are gratefully received. We know that if it wasn't for you, the fans, all of our hard rocking would come to an end, and for that we thank you. On behalf of Guinevere, we thank you.
Always a ray of sunshine...
Rock bands are flammable - at least you were warned
Now we'd like to take you for a once in a lifetime opportunity. There aren't many people who can say they've been inside Guinevere, but we're going to take you good people in there now. (Not suitable for the elderly and people with heart conditions).
The intercom - a vital piece of communication equipment
The living quarters...
The cockpit - where all the excitement happened...
Some of the interesting things found in her depths...
Snippets from the graffiti wall:
All true... So let us once again say goodbye to this magnificent structure of mechanised womanhood... She truly gave us the strength to believe.
"I've never felt anything like it ... truly unbelievable ... it felt like my world was complete when I first saw her (Guinevere) ... I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought that was it until I sat in her luxurious velvety upholstered bosom and found myself being transported to strange new worlds yet, at the same time, feeling safe in the arms of such a strong machine. Damn, she was good - I'll miss her more than I'll miss my mystical goat, Eric, who sadly passed away last Monday...sorry ... I have to go now... I'm (sob) ... I've (boo-hoo) ... got something ... in my ... eye..." Dale Hagger, 2006
Goodbye Guinevere...
